It's a shame that Lacey Springfield has been getting so much attention from the press lately (my employer included--well, usually) when there are much more important stories and people out there. I hope everyone at least glanced through this week's issue of Witch Weekly, which is dedicated entirely to the Archibold Bach.  He was one of WWN's most prolific and successful writers, so he will definitely be missed.  "Charmingly Yours, Thalia" was by far my favorite episode of Gryphon's Place.  What was yours?

Archibold Bach: 1868-2004 )

Seriously, pick up the issue!  It's a fascinating read, and I'm not just saying that because I work there.  Speaking of my job...

If I play my cards right, I think I can nail a promotion by the end of the year, which would put me ahead of schedule. Assuming everything goes according to my life plans.  No accidents or babies--got that, James?  Not now, anyway.  I may get to start interviewing more people too--no one too famous, though.  Still, it's something, right?  So, if you want to be interviewed let me know.  I could use the practise.  Of course, I make no promises that it'll make it in the magazine, especially if you're not famous at all.

.. or related to a dark lord, apparently.

I hate traveling salespeople.

Anyway.

So, I've been thinking a lot about ...life. Is everyone happy with theirs? Are you accomplishing everything you thought you would when you were at Hogwarts? Where do you see yourself in ten years?

Has anyone had any success at getting the chocolate out of their carpet?  Or is my husband the only one daft enough not to watch where he's stepping?  At this rate, I'm going to be cleaning all night because Merlin knows James isn't going to get off his arse to help, no matter what he says.  In fact, I'm pretty sure he doesn't actually mean anything he says.

For example:
What he says and what he means...
  • I'll clean it up. = I was waiting for you to do it.
  • Can I help with dinner? = Are you going to make dinner?
  • What's for dinner? = Why isn't it on the table?
  • Help me with the dishes. = Isn't this your job?
  • Have you seen my wand anywhere? = Please bring me my wand.
  • I got a lot done today. = I read PlayWizard cover to cover.
  • Yes, I'm listening. = Huh?
  • I care. = Why is this such a big deal?
  • Of course I like it. = I hate it.
  • I love your friends. = I can't stand them.
  • It's up to you. = The decision should be obvious.
  • Just decide. = Choose something because I'm going to argue with whatever you say anyway.
  • Everything else is just about sex.

Lau, honey, would you mind doing me a favor? Pretty please?  My boss' son turns eight next weekend, and I've been put in charge of organizing his party (because that's in my job description.).  Anyway, I need a birthday cake.  Want to help?  He likes Martin Miggs, so maybe that can be the theme?
